A military helicopter will land at three Weld RE-4 School sites on Wednesday, Oct. 12, as part of a Red Ribbon Week presentation. The helicopter visit schedule is as follows:
- Tozer / Mountain View Elementary - 8:15 a.m.
- Skyview School of STEM - 10 a.m.
- Grandview Elementary - 1:45 p.m.
Ambulance and fire trucks may also be on site as part of the event. The presentation will last approximately one hour, and the helicopter takeoff will occur shortly thereafter.
As a result of the visit, there may be temporary high winds and noise from the propellers that may be distressing to pets and that may cause slight movement of yard furniture in properties directly adjacent to the school.
Please note: this is not a public event.
A campaign of the National Family Partnership, Red Ribbon Week focuses on drug prevention education, “nurturing the full potential of healthy, drug free youth.” This year’s theme is “Celebrate Life. Live Drug Free.™”
