Sheila Bowman and Shelly Butcher have accepted the position of principal at the two new elementary schools. These new schools — built with funds from the 2022 bond measure — will open in fall 2024, with Ms. Bowman leading the RainDance location and Ms. Butcher at Peakview.

Ms. Bowman is currently the D6 Online Academy Principal and was named the 2022 Greeley-Evans District 6 Administrator of the Year. Prior to her work in D6, she was the principal for the Inspire4 Online School, an instructional technologist, and 5th-grade and enrichment teacher in our district. Ms. Bowman earned her bachelor’s in Human Development / Family Studies from Colorado State University and a master’s in Educational Leadership / Policy Studies from the University of Northern Colorado.

Ms. Butcher has served as the principal of Tozer Primary School in our district since 2014. She has also served as assistant principal of Rice Elementary (Fort Collins, Colo.), an administrative TOSA in our district, and as an elementary teacher of various grades in the Poudre School District. Ms. Butcher earned her bachelor’s in Human Development / Family Studies from Colorado State University, a master’s in Education from Regis University, and an Educational Leadership endorsement from Western Governors University.

These experienced leaders begin their new roles July 10. They’ll work over the course of the 2023 - 2024 school year to prepare for the openings of their respective buildings, which will include extensive community engagement.
