District Seeking Volunteers, Ideas for New Middle School Logo

The Weld RE-4 School District is seeking individuals — students, parents, staff, and community members — interested in serving on a focus group to develop our forthcoming new middle school’s brand.

The new middle school will open in fall 2025 and will be located on CR 15 in Windsor. It will serve 900 students through a 154,864-square-foot space. Features include 300-student Small Learning Communities (SLCs); an innovation commons and design lab; culinary and industrial arts classrooms; sports fields, track, outdoor play area, and tennis courts; and outdoor classrooms and community gardens.

The focus group will help make recommendations for the:

  • School name

  • Logo

  • Mascot

  • Colors

  • Cultural development

Applications for the focus group are open online now through noon Tuesday, May 21. The principal of the future school, Josh Mallicoat, will review and interview, if needed, selected candidates before finalizing the group members.

To help the focus group’s efforts, we are soliciting ideas from the larger community for the school’s name, mascot, and colors. Ideas are being collected online through Tuesday, May 21.
