Coffee with the Hollister Lake Principal

We will hold three “Coffee with the Hollister Lake Principal” events at the Windsor Community Recreation Center (250 11th St., Windsor, Colo). The open-house style events will be held from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. March 6, April 10, and May 8.

Principal Shelly Butcher will host the events for prospective families, providing an opportunity to answer any questions and share:

  • School construction progress
  • The school’s vision, including curriculum and programming
  • Registration / enrollment information

“I can’t wait to meet our future families,” Butcher said. “If you live within our school boundary and will attend or are considering attending, I would encourage you to stop by to learn more about our new school.” Coffee will be provided for all attendees, and free breakfast burritos will be available for the first 25 guests to arrive.

Hollister Lake Elementary School (550 Sundance Dr., Windsor, Colo.) is the result of the community-supported $271-million bond package in November 2022. The school will be approximately 75,000 square feet and will include:

  • 600-K-5 student capacity and 64-preschool student capacity
  • 100-student Small Learning Communities (SLCs), stacked two stories, that include student gathering space, technology resources, and teacher workrooms / support offices
  • Centralized Library Hub and STEM Laboratory
  • Fitness / wellness, music / stage, and cafeteria that are close in proximity to promote afterhour use and to be used as central social gathering locations for students
  • Teacher workrooms and administrative support offices

Construction is slated to be complete and the building open by fall 2024. Information on the project can be found at bond.weldre4.org.
