EDUCATE: Achieve academic proficiency and Character education to ensure student success

We believe that our students need both Academic Proficiency and Life Skills in order to educate the whole child. This is encompassed in the work of our Graduate Profile, where every grade level is oriented towards the five skills we look for our graduates to embody: Create, Evaluate, Relate, Advocate, and Participate. All staff support students in this work, preparing them for the world beyond our walls.

We will accomplish this priority by:

1. Ensuring a guaranteed and viable curriculum, including intervention and advanced

  • In Progress: Piloting curriculum in 6th - 12th Math and 6th - 8th Science

2. Using high impact instructional strategies in every classroom

  • In Progress: Expanding Science of Learning sessions during professional learning days, in schools, and through training for building and district administrators and Learning Coaches

3. Providing ongoing training and professional learning for staff

  • In Progress: Continuing professional learning through New Staff Orientation, district professional learning days, the Science of Learning series, KickUp courses, and 19 scheduled CPI sessions

4. Fully implement character education

  • In Progress: Reviewing current practices across all schools to include resources, classroom activities, and integration into school climate programs and activities; Preparing for the annual Character Counts survey

We will measure success through:

  • Proficiency on the CMAS and PSAT / SAT assessments
