Exceptional Student Services Department
Exceptional Student Services Department
The Exceptional Student Services (ESS) department is committed to supporting the diverse learning needs of students with disabilities by fostering inclusive practices and providing individualized supports and services.
We address the special education and related service needs of students identified under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA 2004). Our goal is to ensure that every eligible student has access to a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE).
Through collaboration with families, educators, and community partners, we work to:
- Identify and evaluate students who may require special education services
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Support transitions between grade levels and into postsecondary opportunities
- Empower students to achieve academic success, build independence, and realize their full potential
We believe that with the right support, every student can thrive and achieve.
If you have questions about special education eligibility, services, or how to request an evaluation, please contact your school’s psychologist or reach out to our Exceptional Student Services office directly.
We serve our students through the following programs and service areas.
- Special Education (IEP services)
- Section 504 Services
- Preschool Program
- WEST Transition Program
- School to Work Alliance Program
- Health Services Program
