Program Purpose

The Weld RE-4 School District is committed to providing every student with a clear path toward graduation. Our Credit Recovery Program offers high school students the opportunity to earn credits for failed coursework through district-authorized Edmentum and BYU Independent Study courses.

While these courses do not replace the original grade on a student’s transcript, they ensure students meet the necessary credit requirements to remain on track for their diploma.

Program Overview & Academic Requirements

    Program Structure & Timing

To accommodate student schedules, we offer five credit-recovery sessions throughout the academic year:

    • School Year: Sessions are held during Quarters 2, 3, and 4.
    • Summer: Two separate cohorts are available during the summer break.

Students work at a personalized pace under the guidance of a Weld RE-4 Mentor Teacher. Each course includes a pacing guide to ensure completion within the designated session. Please note that failing to finish a course within the session timeframe will result in additional extension fees.

    Academic Standards

To successfully earn credit, students must demonstrate proficiency by meeting the following criteria:

    • Completion: 100% of the assigned coursework and tests must be submitted.
    • Assessment Scores: A minimum score of 60% is required on all post-tests, mastery tests, and the final exam.
    • Course Grade: Students must maintain an overall course grade of at least 60%.

Parents can monitor their student’s progress, including upcoming due dates and current grades, through the Edmentum Sensi for Families portal.

    Fees and Registration

Credit recovery is a fee-based program. Payment must be received in full via the Campus Parent portal before a student is granted access to their coursework.

    • Reduced fees are available for students who qualify for free or reduced-priced meals.
    • Scholarships: Limited scholarships may be requested during the registration process.
