Our 2024 - 2029 Strategic Plan

Our Strategic Plan is where the rubber meets the road and where we turn our vision statement— Engage. Educate. Empower. — into reality.

Leadership from across the district came together to identify objectives to help us move our organization forward in pursuit of achieving our vision, both at the district level and at each school.

We worked to identify three priorities in alignment with our vision statement to center our work. View the high-level summary of each priority below or dive into the details posted on the Colorado Department of Education’s website.

ENGAGE: Strengthen trust to cultivate sustainable partnerships in pursuit of student success

We believe that our students truly succeed when we have strong community partnerships in a variety of forms. We are thankful for the deep investment of our community — internships, apprenticeships, donors, volunteer hours — and look to give back and instill a sense of service and pride in our neighborhoods.

We will accomplish this priority by:

1. Conveying the value of public education to our community

  • In Progress: Market research underway

2. Fostering participation in engagement opportunities (PTAC, Committees)

  • In Progress: Developing focus group structure and soliciting volunteers

3. Engaging students in community activities

  • In Progress: Schools have developed and increased community involvement

We will measure success through:

  • Public perception survey
  • Enrollment data
  • Culture of Excellence and Ethics survey

EDUCATE: Achieve academic proficiency and Character education to ensure student success

We believe that our students need both Academic Proficiency and Life Skills in order to educate the whole child. This is encompassed in the work of our Graduate Profile, where every grade level is oriented towards the five skills we look for our graduates to embody: Create, Evaluate, Relate, Advocate, and Participate. All staff support students in this work, preparing them for the world beyond our walls.

We will accomplish this priority by:

1. Ensuring a guaranteed and viable curriculum, including intervention and advanced

  • In Progress: English Language Arts has a comprehensive K - 12 system

2. Using high impact instructional strategies in every classroom

  • In Progress: Instructional handbook under development with Learning Coaches

3. Providing ongoing training and professional learning for staff

  • In Progress: 28 classes are open for staff development

4. Fully implement character education

  • In Progress: Results of Culture of Excellence and Ethics Survey are being analyzed

We will measure success through:

  • Proficiency on the CMAS and PSAT / SAT assessments

EMPOWER: Foster quality staff to provide stability and instruction to optimize student success

We believe our students deserve a quality education from outstanding instructors that care about students and their path to success. We look to foster a positive climate and culture, a sense of belonging, and professional growth for staff amidst fierce competition from regional school districts that benefit from the recently revised School Finance formula.

We will accomplish this priority by:

1. Providing information on school finance and long range plans

  • On Hold: Awaiting final legislative action (school finance) and completion of 2022 Bond (long range plan)

2. Implementing career pathways, succession planning, and leadership opportunities

  • In Progress: Leadership opportunities for Certified staff are ready for roll out

3. Outperforming the state average retention rate for licensed staff

  • In Progress: On track to outperform state retention rate, numbers will be available in August

We will measure success through:

  • Culture of Excellence and Ethics survey
  • Staff retention rates
