Our district carefully selects standards-aligned, research-based, proven-effective curriculums to support high-quality instruction for all students. Teachers use these curriculums as tools to design instructional plans that meet the diverse needs of their students. These efforts are grounded in the Colorado Academic Standards, ensuring that students develop consistent skills and knowledge each year. Colorado has 12 content areas for our academic standards:

  1. Comprehensive Health
  2. Computer Science
  3. Dance
  4. Drama and Theatre Arts
  5. Mathematics
  6. Music
  7. Physical Education
  8. Reading, Writing, and Communicating
  9. Science
  10. Social Studies
  11. Visual Arts
  12. World Languages

Within these content areas, the state standards prioritize rigor, relevancy, relationships, and disciplinary literacy.

The district also provides a robust Career and Technical Education program. Middle school and high school programs are designed Career and Technical Education programs are designed to explore career pathways and learn critical skills and certifications to enter the workforce. Several pathways exist, including Agricultural Sciences, Business, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Human Services, Education, Hospitality and Food Services, Design, Industrial Design and Technology, and Information Technology. The district and schools provide resources, as feasible, so that teachers are able to utilize the best materials possible. This may include traditional textbooks, digital content, and lab equipment.
