The Communications Department helps equip and empower our students, staff, families, and larger community with accurate, up-to-date information in order to make informed decisions and maximize educational opportunities.
We look to engage our community and develop strong relationships in support of our students through consistent, clear, and transparent communication.
Media Requests
The Communications Department coordinates requests from members of the media. All media inquiries regarding the Board of Education, district, departments, or schools can be sent to Katie Smith, Director of Communications, to ensure a timely and accurate response.
Communication Vehicles
- Weld RE-4 Website: The district’s website is the primary home for all district communication, news, and alerts.
- Social Media: Follow the district on Facebook and Instagram to stay in the loop on district news and events across our district.
- Emails and Phone Calls: Communication to students and families will be made primarily through ParentSquare
- Monthly Newsletter: Families and members of the community will receive updates through our monthly e-newsletter. For members of our community that are not Weld RE-4 parents, subscribe by emailing engage@weldre4.org.
Open Records
Our goal is to be as open and transparent as possible, while meeting the requirements of state law regarding open records access. It’s our policy to make all public records available for public inspection at reasonable times in accordance with the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) (§24-72-201-206 C.R.S.). To submit a request, please complete the Request for Public Records form, and email it to Nicole Baich. Learn More about open records.
