Our District Vision in Action
As part of our Weld RE-4 vision for education, we are further enhancing strong relationships between the district and our community. We actively seek out and utilize the wisdom and expertise of community members to ensure that learning experiences have a direct connection to the aspirations of our learners. Two recent high school events highlight our commitment to strengthening these connections to our wider community.  
CTE Opportunities Fair. In September, nearly 500 high school juniors and seniors in northern Colorado participated in a CTE Fair hosted by the Windsor/Severance Colorado FFA Alumni and Supporters organization at Severance High School. Going beyond an ordinary job fair, the opportunities fair connected students with more than 20 businesses, 15 post-secondary institutions, and various branches of the Armed Forces that provided them with career advice and guidance on the best pathway to high-demand trades and hands-on careers.

WHS Rocket Launch. In early October, a professor from the CU-Boulder Aerospace Engineering Sciences program worked with Windsor High School’s AP Physics students and robotics engineering class to build and launch rockets in a project that merged theoretical and experimental science.

Get to Know Weld RE-4's School to Work Alliance Program (SWAP)
Weld RE-4 proudly offers the SWAP program, which provides employment-related assistance to young adults with disabilities who are experiencing mild to moderate barriers to employment. In its Fall 2021 newsletter, SWAP highlights a Windsor High School student who was accepted into the Weld County Sheriff's Explorer program and a Severance High School student working with a local electrician to gain hands-on experience. Upcoming Events
2021 Bond Community Meeting on October 13. Want to know more about the November 2021 bond impact for the Severance community? The district is hosting a public meeting at Range View (700 Ponderosa Dr., Severance) on October 13 at 5:30 pm to share information and answer questions. We hope you can join us!
Board-hosted "Coffee Talk." The remaining events are scheduled for October 22, November 19, and December 10. They take place from 7 to 8 am at the Weld RE-4 District Office. (See details below.)
