The Weld RE-4 School District is committed to ensuring everyone feels welcome in our spaces — in person and online. This includes accessible digital content, like our website, for all members of our community, including individuals with disabilities in accordance with federal and state law.
Accessibility Practices
To help us make our website accessible, we are using the Website Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) Version 2.1 (opens to a new tab). The WCAG guidelines define three levels of accessibility. From lesser accessibility to greater accessibility these levels are A, AA, and AAA. Our goal is to ensure that digital content on our website meets or exceeds the AA requirements.
Accessibility Roadmap
To ensure our platforms remain inclusive and easy to navigate, the Weld RE-4 School District maintains a proactive, good faith approach to digital accessibility through regular testing and staff training. Our internal digital accessibility team meets regularly to track progress and address any emerging digital barriers. Additionally, we continue to monitor the third-party digital platforms in use and have assigned an accessibility contact for each tool that can assist with providing reasonable accommodations and alternative access as needed.
We invite you to view our more detailed Accessibility Plan for Digital Content (opens to a new tab).
Accommodation Requests and Feedback
Digital accessibility is incredibly important to us, and we are dedicated to making our online spaces user-friendly. Your experience matters, and we regularly review our website and digital tools to keep them accessible and easy to use. Whether you have feedback on what’s working well or if you had trouble with any part of it, we want to hear from you! Please reach out by emailing us at engage@weldre4.org, filling out our online form (opens to a new tab), calling us at 970-686-8095, or providing a physical letter to 1020 Main Street, Windsor, CO 80550. If you have difficulty accessing information from our website (or through other communications), please include in your message:
- The issue along with the URL / website address with the problem
- Device used (e.g., personal computer, iPhone)
- Assistive technology used (e.g., screen reader), if applicable
Once we receive your request or report, the staff member best suited to help will reach out to you within seven (7) calendar days (excluding district holidays) to talk through the issue and explore solutions together. Within fourteen (14) calendar days of that conversation, the district will follow up with options for a resolution, provided in a format that works best for you.
