Weld RE-4 School District wants every student to have what they need to be engaged, educated and empowered. We recognize that outside factors can sometimes make it difficult for a student to thrive. We strive to ensure that every student and family can access the resources, information, and support needed to fully participate in education. Guided by educational rights and student dignity, we use a coordinated system that connects school, district, and community supports.

Through collaboration with families, staff, and partners, we:

  • Connect families to school and district resources
  • Facilitate access to community services
  • Provide clear information for external supports
  • Strengthen partnerships to remove barriers to learning

Our goal is simple: remove barriers, protect dignity, and expand access so every student can succeed.

Get Support at Weld RE-4

    Family Resource Cabinet

    Weld RE-4 has a variety of hygiene and household supplies that are available as needed to families with enrolled students.  These are intended to help ensure that our students have everything they need to be successful at school. Items are provided by the Weld RE-4 Foundation and other community donations.  Available items may include:

    *Cold Weather: Blankets, sheets, hats and gloves, hoodies (for middle school and high school age). We can also get coats as needed.

    *Personal Care Items: Toothbrushes and toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, lotion, feminine hygiene products

    *Household Essentials: Laundry detergent, softener, dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels

    *Backpacks and school supplies (limited quantities)

    *Gift Cards to support with educational needs (limited quantity)

    Resource Newsletter

    Families may opt in to receiving our monthly resource newsletter, including information on local options to get help with food, clothing, housing, etc., as well as in-time resources such as seasonal (i.e. holiday supports, summer opportunities), upcoming job fairs, application deadlines for assistance (i.e. LEAP), and more.  You can opt in with ParentSquare using this link.

    Free and Reduced Lunch

    Meals are currently provided at no cost to all of our students through the Healthy School Meals for All program.  All Weld RE-4 families are still encouraged to complete the Free and Reduced Meal Application. The application process provides important data that allows us to receive full access to federal funds that support our schools’ nutrition programs.

    Here are some of the benefits that qualifying families may receive:

    • Reduced or waived class fees
    • Reduced Windsor Parks, Recreation, & Culture registration fees
    • Discounted internet services via Lifeline

    Children may qualify if they:

    • Receive SNAP, FDPIR, or TANF
    • Are a foster child under the legal responsibility of a foster care agency or the court
    • Attend a Head Start program
    • Meet the definition of homeless, runaway, or migrant
    • Have a qualifying household income (for a family of four, at or below $41,795 for free meals and $59,478 for reduced meals)

    Families only need to fill out one application per household. Even if an application was completed in previous years, families will need to complete the application every school year.

    Weekend Food Bags

    Weld RE-4 and the Weld Food Bank partner to provide the Weekend Food Bag program for elementary and middle school students. This program provides nutritionally balanced packs of food for students at risk of hunger to take home over the weekend for added nutritional support through the weekend. Please speak to your school staff if you’d like your elementary/middle school student(s) to receive food bags.

    Holiday Assistance

    If your family needs assistance covering holiday expenses, please reach out to your school’s front office or counselor for referrals and information.

    • Families with students in elementary school may request assistance in the form of a grocery gift card, provided by St. Alban’s Episcopal church, to help cover their Thanksgiving meal.
    • Weld RE-4 staff provides direct referrals to the Weld Elves for holiday gifts

    School Supplies

    Weld RE-4 partners with Impacks for school supply kits.  Families who would like to utilize this option but cannot afford the full cost of their child’s kit should click on the application for assistance link included in communications about Impacks.  Please make sure to follow all deadlines for requesting assistance and ordering.  Outside of the annual kit ordering time, families should reach out to the front office staff or counselor at their school to request assistance with school supplies.

    Coats and Hoodies

    Each fall, the Knights of Columbus from Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church provide coats to any students in need. The Weld RE-4 Foundation provides school-specific hoodies for our middle and high school students.

    Housing Challenges

    Many families across the country are adjusting their housing situations due to the rising cost of living or unexpected financial hardship. Families in Weld RE-4 are no exception. Our district is committed to ensuring that every student has full access to their education, regardless of their housing situation.  Please see our Families in Transition tab for additional information.

    Fee Reductions

    Certain fees / charges may be reduced for students eligible for free or reduced-price meals under the federal income poverty guidelines. The District’s Waiver Fee Reduction Form must be completed for waivers to be considered. Please work directly with your school to request a curricular fee reduction.

    Impact Weld

    Impact Weld is a program provided by the Weld Trust to help students and their families cover costs associated with sports, tutoring, or activities through their school or select nonprofit organizations.  In Weld RE-4, middle and high school students who need assistance with the cost of athletics and activities can apply for the limited number of spots we have available each year.  Interested families should email care@weldre4.org for more information and instructions on how to apply.

    Education Program for Agricultural Families

    Weld RE-4 partners with Centennial BOCES to provide services under the Education Program for Agricultural Families.  The Education Program for Agricultural Families provides supplemental and support services to eligible students. Eligibility requirements include:

    • Child/youth must be between 3 and 21 years of age, and have not received a high school diploma or its equivalent
    • Child/youth has moved from one school district to another in the past 3 years
    • Child/youth’s parents, guardians, spouses, or selves have moved to obtain or seek seasonal or temporary work in agricultural production or fisheries
    • This agricultural work provides a principal means of livelihood for the worker and family

So far in the 2025-2026 school year:

  • 151 students identified as eligible under McKinney-Vento
  • Almost 200 new coats provided to students in need
  • Almost 100 students received donated school supplies
  • 150+ students receiving weekend food bags
  • 334 students referred for assistance with holiday gifts
  • 122 families (499 individuals) received direct financial assistance for Thanksgiving
  • 87 secondary students enrolled in Impact Weld for assistance with athletics/activities
  • 40+ family visits to the Family Resource Cabinet
  • 600+ students who have received assistance of some kind during the school year
