Student Teachers & Interns
Thank you for starting your career with us in Weld RE-4!
Application and Placement Process
Steps for Placement:
- You need to have met all requirements within your university for placement.
- Submit a student teaching application to the college or university (follow the college/university process).
- The College or University will submit a request with required documentation to the Human Resources Department. A complete application includes:
- Student teaching application from your college or university (if applicable)
- Resume
- Transcripts (unofficial copies accepted. All documents should be emailed to be considered.)
- Human Resources then attempts to make the requested placement(s).
- The Principal, and potential cooperating teacher, may call and request an interview or more information from the student teacher prior to accepting placement.
- Human Resources will contact the college or university to notify them whether the student teacher placement has been made.
- Once the student teacher has been placed, they will need to submit an application for guest teacher/substitute through the Frontline Application Portal prior to the start of their student teaching/internship.
- The student teacher will need to apply for a one-year substitute authorization through the Colorado Department of Education.
- Human Resources will reach out to the placed student teacher / intern, as needed.
Every effort will be made to place student teachers / interns at their requested location or with the requested mentor teacher / supervisor who will provide proper guidance and supervision. However, if the request cannot be met, Human Resources will work with your university on available placements in the District.
