College

• Whether you’re a student or a parent, this college planning timeline will keep you on track and in the know throughout high school.
• While in high school, students can earn college credits through Advanced Placement and Concurrent Enrollment courses.
• For graduating seniors, once you have applied to colleges, you will need to send a copy of your transcript.

• If you are planning on playing athletics in college, make sure you understand the NCAA and NAIA requirements.
• Retaking the SAT or taking the ACT might help meet scholarship or college admission requirements.

• Students can individualize their career and academic plans using the academic planning tool, Xello.
• Xello is a useful tool where students can discover relevant career, college, university, trade and military options based on personality, skills, and knowledge. The website is designed to help students research colleges, explore careers, map out next steps and much more.
• Explore our Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways designed to prepare students for post-secondary workforce readiness -- students are introduced to workplace competencies and hands-on learning.

Aims Career Academy

Through our partnership with Aims Community College, high school students can take part in the Career Academy program, giving high school students a chance to get ahead on college coursework and career planning while still in high school. This program offers students:

• The ability to earn certifications in participating programs, free of charge
• Tuition, fees, and course materials are paid by the district
• 1 year (minimum) commitment
