About Our District
Nestled at the crossroads of the foothills and plains of Colorado, the Weld RE-4 School District is dedicated to building a vibrant, relationship-centered community where every student is known, valued, and empowered to thrive. Our growing district serves 8,800 students across Severance, Windsor, and West Greeley. With a dedicated team of more than 1,000 employees, we are the largest employer in Windsor and Severance.
We work to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to become successful global citizens. We achieve this through our vision to Engage. Educate. Empower.:
- Engage: We actively build trusting, transparent partnerships with our students, staff, families, and the community. By fostering these connections, we help every student find their passion and a reliable adult mentor.
- Educate: Our commitment to academic excellence is personal. We create a safe and nurturing environment where students are challenged to rise above expectations, supported by a curriculum designed to prepare them for the world beyond the classroom.
- Empower: We ignite curiosity and critical thinking, empowering our students to become confident problem solvers and innovators. Our goal is to instill a love of learning that lasts a lifetime, setting them up to succeed in any path they choose.
By focusing on our unique Graduate Profile, we ensure that our students gain academic proficiency and develop essential life skills that will prepare them to shape a brighter future, equipped to Create, Evaluate, Relate, Advocate, and Participate.
We are more than a school district; we are a community united in our commitment to every child's potential.
Our Vision & Strategic Plan
There are many moving parts in our growing district, and to ensure we focus our efforts on initiatives that will have the most impact on our students, we have worked with our Board of Education and district leaders to develop a vision statement and a strategic plan that are adopted across all of our schools and departments.
Our vision and strategic plan are products of our unwavering commitment to our students and their futures. Through meeting these objectives, we are not only preparing our students for the future, but also empowering them to shape it. Together, as a united community, we will continue to invest in the potential of every student, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to thrive in the world beyond our schools.
