Weld RE-4 COVID-19 Response

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has advised communities to prepare for a domestic outbreak of COVID-19, commonly known as the coronavirus. Weld RE-4 is working closely with local, state, and national health officials to monitor COVID-19 and make decisions and will provide information as it becomes available.

April 1, 2020: Colorado extends statewide school closures through end of April.

March 25, 2020: Governor Polis issued a statewide stay-at-home order effective at 6am on March 26 through April 11. 

March 20, 2020: Meal pick up and mobile meals are canceled on 3/20 due to weather. Check the link above for next week's schedule.

March 18, 2020: Governor Jared Polis provided an update on the state’s response to COVID-19 and announced new executive actions to protect the health and safety of Coloradans. The Governor signed an executive order suspending in-person learning in public schools across the state through April 17. CHSAA's Spring Sports moratorium is extended through April 18; all CHSAA Music Events have been cancelled for 2020. Read the announcement here

March 17, 2020: 
 The Colorado Department of Education is officially pausing  2019-20 end-of-the-year assessments, including the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) due to extensive school closures throughout Colorado to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Read the press release here

Preventative Measures By Weld RE-4

  • All of our schools are closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year.

  • We are prioritizing advanced cleaning protocols aligned with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment recommendations.  

  • All district- and school-sponsored out-of-state and out-of-country trips for students and staff have been canceled.

  • We are terminating any school attendance awards/rewards going forward for the 2019-2020 school year.
