Empower

EMPOWER is Weld RE-4’s formal training program designed to engage Weld RE-4 citizens in the work of the school district.

Every year, Weld RE-4 invites approximately 20 citizens representing RE-4 schools and different facets of our community to be part of EMPOWER. Over the course of the school year, EMPOWER participants meet seven times for 90 minute sessions led by district leaders. Every session covers multiple topics such as district finance and operations, classroom instruction, technology, and exceptional student services. EMPOWER participants are encouraged to actively engage in each session through conversations and questions.

Goal

Goals of the EMPOWER program include:

  • Growing parent and community engagement for the benefit of our students.
  • Creating a sounding board for better informed decisions.
  • Generating an informed group of citizens who have a deeper understanding of the school district.
  • Providing a meaningful way for members to serve the community, build their leadership capacity, and strengthen relationships across the community.

Participants

EMPOWER is especially valuable for citizens who want to obtain a foundation in district operations and governance, and become more engaged in school district affairs. Participants learn about our school district, meet a variety of district leaders, have the opportunity to share information with their school community, and get to know other engaged citizens.

Commitment

By participating in EMPOWER, you are making an 11-hour commitment over the course of the school year.
