It's been a busy summer in the Weld RE-4 School District as we prepare to welcome 7,000 students and 650 staff members for the 2019-2020 school year. We can't wait to get started!
Save the date for the Severance High School community open house! Join us to celebrate Weld RE-4 School District’s new high school on Thursday, September 12 at 5:30 PM. Tour the facility, and be our guest at the Silver Knight's fall festival football game at 6:30 PM.
Applications are now open for the Weld RE-4 EMPOWER program, a formal training program designed to engage Weld RE-4 citizens in the work of the school district. Be part of a group of 20 citizens representing RE-4 schools and different facets of our community. Over the course of the school year, EMPOWER meets seven times for 90 minute sessions (8:30AM - 10AM) led by district leaders covering an array of topics. The application for the 2019–2020 cohort is open through September 12, 2019. Click here to learn more and apply.

A Window into Weld RE-4
Construction is now complete on Grandview Elementary School's new secured entry!
Other 2016 bond-funded constructions projects were completed this summer at Range View, Tozer, and on the grounds at Windsor Middle School.
12 modular buildings are now operational around the school district to ensure we have space to serve all of our students.
Did you know that this year, Weld RE-4 elementary schools will be at 101% capacity and our middle schools will be at 104%?
citizens vision committee began meeting this month to start planning for a potential 2020 bond that would fund two new elementary schools and add capacity at Severance Middle School and Windsor Middle School. These projects were
recommended by the district's Long Range Planning committee this past spring.
Safety Training a Success

Windsor Severance Fire Rescue and the Weld RE-4 Transportation Department conducted a joint safety training simulating a bus rollover. This exercise enabled emergency personnel to train to help keep Weld RE-4 students safe. Click here to view the video
Data Privacy Update
You may have heard that Pearson, the publisher of print and digital textbooks, suffered a data breach affecting more than 13,000 schools and universities. Fortunately, Weld RE-4 was minimally impacted, in part because the Pearson system in question is not currently in use here and has not been for several years. We are in contact with the 11 current students, and have attempted to contact the 11 student alumni, whose accounts were accessed. No social security numbers or financial information was accessed in the breach and Pearson does not believe the data has been misused. If you have not been contacted by the district, your child’s data is not affected.
Please know that Weld RE-4 is in compliance with the Colorado Student Data Privacy and Transparency Act, and obtains data protection agreements with contracted providers to protect student data.
